Sgt. Mario Maiorano Killed in Action in Africa

(May 13, 1943) -- Mrs. Josephine Maiorano, of 102 Dow Street, was informed that her son Sgt. Mario Maiorano, was killed in action in North Africa on April 3, 1943.

Maiorano, 28, had been drafted, and enlisted in January 24, 1941. He served in Company C, 47th Infantry, 9th Division, and was stationed in North Africa since last October.

He was engaged to Ann Petrosino of Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

Sgt. Maiorano’s remains were repatriated and interred at Saint Peters Churchyard, Belleville, N.J.
