He joined the Army on Sept. 22, 1917, from Brooklyn, New York. Pvt. Mooney served with the 106th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Catherine Huggins of No. 6th St., Newark. PFC Mooney is buried at Plot B, Row 02, Grave 02, at Somme American Cemetery, Bony, France. Sources:
