Private Charles Schaffer of Belleville, NJ, died of pneumonia Oct. 4, 1918.Private Charles Schaffer, 27, of 10 Smith Street, Belleville, died of pneumonia on Oct. 4, 1918.

Born in Ivanhoe, Va., Schaffer was inducted at Newark on July 5, 1918.

He served in Company A, 5th Engineers at Camp Humphreys, Va.

He is survived by his sister Elizabeth Schaffer of 55 Oriental Terrace, Newark.
